1. What is the Edmonton Game Convention?

Simply put, the EGC is a weekend for gamers to get together and have a lot of fun playing games and talking about games. The people who are planning this had such a fantastic time together at events like Penny Arcade Expo that they wanted to start something similar in Western Canada. Full background information can be found on the Governance Page.

2. How much does it cost to attend?

The cost of a weekend admission will be around the $40 CDN mark. That's a pretty good deal considering most conferences in Canada are industry-slanted and cost a few hundred dollars for a weekend! At this point we're still hammering out details of early bird and group discounts. Stay tuned!

3. I'm going to be travelling to Edmonton...a little help?

Edmonton is easy to get to and easy to get around in. All sort of information on travel to the City as well as accomodation (hopefully with some special deals for attendees!) can be viewed on the Travel & Hotels page.

3. Are there perks to becoming a member?

Five dollars of the attendance is a membership fee in the organizing society, the Edmonton Game Convention Committee. As a member, you have a say in how things are planned and can attend the Annual General Meeting of the Society. We hope to get some nice deals from sponsors as well in the future and will post info on deals as they become available!

4. What happens when I sign up for updates or preregistration?

Signing up for email updates means you'll be included in all email bulletins. At present time we have not opened up preregistration for the event. Both options can be done at the Registration page.

5. Is there an age restriction for the event?

Absolutely not! Gaming is something that everyone can enjoy - any age and any background. Watch out, lawyers, that 12 year old might head-shot you.

6. What's Freeplay?

Freeplay for Console and PC will be an opportunity for anyone to grab a game and spend some time playing it. It's a fantastic opportunity to try out new software, play some classics, or challenge friends.

7. I'm a company that would like to get involved. How do I contact you?

Please visit the Contacts page to get in touch with individual Board members. You can also read our full Sponsonrship package (currently in development).
